At 7:30 am local time on June 3, 2025, the first steel structure column of the CDI Saudi Lenovo Oasis project was successfully lifted, marking the project entering the steel structure installation and construction stage 6 days ahead of schedule.
The Lenovo Oasis project in Saudi Arabia is a production base invested and constructed by Lenovo Group. It is expected to produce millions of "Saudi made" laptops, desktops, and servers annually, which is highly compatible with Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision" and will strongly support Saudi Arabia's economic goals. The project is located in the Riyadh Duty Free Industrial Park.
The Lenovo Oasis project in Saudi Arabia was officially signed on April 7, 2025, with a tight schedule and high requirements. In addition to complying with European and Saudi standards for all design requirements, it also faces strict approval and management requirements from owners, project managers, supervisors, management committees, and other levels.
Faced with challenges, CDI Saudi Arabia Regional Company and project team carefully organized and made every effort to simultaneously initiate design conversion, design confirmation, project environmental impact assessment, as well as domestic steel structure manufacturing and on-site construction approval work.
In terms of design, design teams from China, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt worked day and night to complete dozens of design documents, including design, conversion, and approval, in the shortest possible time. All documents were issued in accordance with European and Saudi standards, and the design quality and efficiency were highly recognized by the owners and the industrial zone management committee.
In terms of manufacturing, relying on the headquarters' Hefei manufacturing base, the first batch of steel structures was delivered to the site on May 6th. In terms of on-site construction, the project department strictly prepared various approval documents in accordance with the requirements of all parties, and obtained the basic construction permit one week ahead of schedule on May 1st, creating the fastest record for the approval of construction permits in the industrial zone and receiving written recognition and praise from the owner.
At the same time, we carefully prepared for the construction and immediately began full-scale construction after obtaining the construction permit. In just one month, we completed the foundation construction of all 22000 square meters of ground beams and 55% steel structure columns in Workshop 1. On June 2nd, we successfully obtained the steel structure installation construction permit for Workshop 1, one week ahead of schedule, laying a good foundation for project performance.
The smooth lifting of the first hook for the installation of the steel structure is an important milestone in the project construction process, and a vivid manifestation of the unity, cooperation, and overcoming difficulties of the project team.
