1st Training Session for Excellent Foreign Employees Held at CDI Head Office

Between the 19th and the 26th of
April, with the advent of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for
International Cooperation, CDI held the first training session for excellent
foreign employees at its head office. The 7 foreign employees attending this
training session, all from CDI Egypt branch, were outstanding representatives
of foreign employees who have made great contributions to CDI’s implementation
of overseas projects with local resources.
Mr. Chen Tao, Vice General Manager of CDI, was present
at the opening ceremony and addressed the session with a welcome speech.
Firstly, on hebalf of the management team he warmly welcomed the 7 foreign trainees
who travelled a long way to come to China, and fully acknowledged their
contributions to CDI’s overseas localization operations and projects
implementation. Afterwards, he gave a brief introduction to CDI’s path of development
as an international engineering company as well as CDI’s business scope and
versatile operations. It was pointed out by him that localization, as the
inevitable choice and important support to CDI’s constant “going out” strategy,
meant a lot to CDI’s international operation, and under the direction of “One
Belt One Road” policy, our localization management and operation would always
stick to the principle of equality, mutual benefit, mutual development and
win-win state. As a warm big international family, CDI had employees from all
over the world, and training sessions like this would have more excellent
foreign employees to come to China, come to Chengdu and come to the head office
and give them the chance to visit the sites of domestic projects under construction,
get a close understanding of CDI’s glorious history and company culture, attain
basic knowledges of scientific and standardized project management system, and
help them to find the right way to integrate personal promotion with company’s
development. In the end, Mr. Chen Tao hoped that the foreign trainees could
have a fruitful achievements with the 8-day training and convert what they have
learned, saw and thought during the training into real works after they go back
to Egypt, so as to make greater contributions to construction of CDI’s overseas
projects, establishment of Sinoma brand and further development of CNBM as well
as build, together with CDI, a more brilliant future for everyone.
Mr. He Jiao, Vice Director of Engineering Management
Department No. 1, as the keynote speaker, gave the foreign trainees a detailed
introduction to CDI’s histroy, typical achievements, company culture and career
development trend, and shared his experiences in CDI’s project management
system and management procedures. The foreign trainees, listening carefully
with active interactions, acquired a clearer knowledge about CDI’s history, status
quo and future planning and a deeper understanding about localization and
turnkey project management. At close of the training session at the head
office, each foreign trainee was awarded a training certificate and a beautiful
gift with Sichuan characteristics.

On the 22nd of April, the foreign trainees
left Chengdu for the site of Hongta Dianxi Bingchuan project undertaken by CDI on
turnkey basis in Dali, Yunnan Province and started their 3-day learning at the
domesitc project site. Hongta Dianxi Bingchuan 6000TPD clinker cement
production line, under construction by CDI at present with a tight schedule of
13 months only, carried the mission to build a benchmark project of CNBM and
Sinoma. The project management team highly valued this training and organized a
training team composed of experienced and skillful engineers of process, civil,
installation and safety management to give, by ways of classroom lecture, site
visits and question-answer, a full and comprehensive demonstration on the
advanced construction technology and project management procedures adopted by
domestic cement production lines. The foreign trainees by studying carefully,
taking notes and asking questions acquired site construction and management
methods that are totally different from those used in Egypt and accumulated
precious knowledge and experineces. The foreign trainees sincerely expressed
their admiration of the high standard, high quality and high efficiency of
Chinese construction technology and the scientific and standardized project
management.

In order to let the foreign trainees have more
experiences in site learning, CDI arranged the foreign trainees to visit Vanke
Tianhui project constructed by CITIC Guoan Construction Group Co., Ltd. in
Chengdu. Meanwhile, CDI made arrangements for the foreign trainees to visit at
spare time various attractions such as Chengdu Panda Park, the ancient town of Dali
and the Great Wall in Beijing, and they were all deeply impressed by the long
and splendid history and culture of China.
At the end of the training, the foreign trainees
expressed their most sincere gratitude to this training and the hospitality of
the head office. The training and the visits made them fully feel CDI’s
recognition and care for them, and they were truly proud of being a member of
CDI big family. The foreign trainees unanimously stated that they would bring
back to Egypt and carry forward tehcnology and precious management experiences
acquired during this training, and at the same time try the best to improve
their work performances and make greater contributions to CDI’s further
development.
