On March 3, 2012, the Appraisal Committee organized by China’s Building Materials League held a meeting to appraise the scientific value of CDI’s project “Research, Development and Application of Raw Meal Final Grinding System with Roller Press for High Altitude Areas”. Presided by Mr. Zhou Qinghao, Director of Science and Technology Section of China’s Building Materials League, the meeting was attended by Mr. Wu Hong, General Manager of CDI, Mr. Chen Tao, Vice General Manager of CDI, and members of this project team.
Targeting at special conditions at high altitude areas, this project was to optimize and innovate ordinary process flow and equipment structure so that they were enabled to adapt to different altitudes, raw materials features and energy saving demands. At present, this technology has been successfully applied to raw meal grinding system of the 2000t/d special cement upgrading project for Qinghai New Type Building Materials Trading Co., Ltd. (the altitude of the project site is 2420m) and passed the performance tests with system output being 15% higher than the designed index while grinding power consumption being 8% lower than the designed figure.
At the meeting, experts from China’s Building Materials League, China’s Cement Association, China’s Building Materials Mechanic Association, Wuhan Science & Technology University, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd., Hefei Design & Research Institute of Cement Industry, South Cement Co., Ltd., Lafarge Shui-On Cement Co., Ltd., Tian Rui Cement Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Research Institute of Building Materials Science debriefed the technical report made by the project team and introduction by the end-user, Qinghai New Type Building Materials Trading Co., Ltd., to the running particulars of the real meal final grinding system with roller press, questioned, discussed and analyzed peculiarities of the project, confirmed the achievements procured by CDI on this project, and unanimously agreed that this project had realized specific targets for innovation and optimization, reasonable modifications for process flow and equipment structure, low energy consumption, stable running and convenient operation and maintenance, and therefore had established a symbolic model, with broad market prospect and outstanding social and economic benefits, for the cement industry at high altitude areas to achieve lower power consumption, less emissions and more energy saving for the grinding system. Meanwhile, the experts expressed their expectations for CDI to further explore research and application of raw meal final grinding system with roller press and process parameters at various altitudes.
