Successful Ignition of Pakistan PCC 7700TPD Clinker Cement Production Line Undertaken by CDI on Turnkey Basis

On January 15, 2020, the Line 3 Expansion Project of Pioneer Cement Company, i.e. the 7700TPD Clinker Cement Production Line Project, undertaken by CDI on turnkey basis in Pakistan (hereinafter referred to as PCC Cement Project) achieved successful ignition at its first attemp.
Ignition Ceremony
Mr. Habib Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Mega Group, Mr. Aly Khan, Chairman of Pioneer Cement Company, Mr. Sajid, Assistant to Chairman of Mega Group and Mr. Arif, CEO of Pioneer Cement Company attended the ignition ceremony along with Mr. Lin Jie, Vice General Manager of CDI, and Mr. Yang Bingfeng, Project Manager and Director of Project Management Department No. 2 of CDI.
Located in Kushab region in the northwest of Lahore, PCC Cement Project comprises of a complete cement production line from raw materials crushing to packing and dispatch of cement. PCC Cement Project together with its associated 12MW WHR and 24MW coal power plant is the first large-scale cement production line and captive power plant project successfully undertaken and constructed on EP+C mode by CDI as a Chinese contractor in Pakistan.
Since commencement of the project, with care and support from leaders of all levels and various departments, the project management team by planning carefully and managing deliberately and all the staff by striving hard have overcome all kinds of difficulties and hardships like delay of schedule as a result of the owner’s delay in obtaining the EIA permit, flood and storm during the raining season, shortage of human resources in Pakistan, regional security tensions and so on, and have finally achieved successful ignition and putting into production of the cement produciton line, which strongly demonstrates CDI’s first-class management of international engineering projects and earns the owner’s full acknowledgement. Meanwhile, the project management team actively implemented localization that all the civil works and part of the erection works were subcontracted to local companies and dozens of local engineers and technicians were employed, which effectively lowered the construction costs, sped up the schedule and helped to guarantee the high quality of project execution.
The successful implementation of PCC Cement Projecct in Pakistan will play a positive role in CDI’s follow-up market exploration in Pakistan and the South Asia region. The project management team will work harder to accomplish the performance tests and all the outstanding works at the earliest as possible and hand over the project to the owner.
