at El-Ferdan Railway Bridge Project over Suez Canal in Egypt
Small Figure, Big
Energy
In
2016, being a 26-year old Eygptian dreaming to make contributions to
development of his hometown, Motaz joined CDI as a civil technician and took
part in the EPC construciton of GOE Beni Suef 6*6000TPD clinker cement
production lines. In charge of management of road construction all over the
site, he had to deal with dozens of subcontractors and phone calls every day.
He coordinated among various parties to transfer equipment and materials and
clean up the site, sorted out working sequences for various specialities. He
often joked about “his non-durable phone battery”, and it is these non-stop
phone calls, constant emergencies and tough problems that have improved his overall
planning and coordination ability and made him more meticulous and pragmatic,
and at the same time everyone was impressed by this
vigorous young man.
Motaz (the second from the left) made a report to the owner.
Outstanding Foreign
Employee
In
2019, as one of the outstanding foreign employees, Muntaz went to Chengdu Design
& Research Institute of Building Materials Industry Co., Ltd(CDI) for
communication study. This trip in China enables him to have a deeper and
systematic understanding and mastery of the company's development history,
localized running and EPC project management. Completing the study in Chengdu,
Montaz and six other outstanding foreign employees went to Yunnan Dali project
Department to start the 3-day on-site experiential and immersive learning. Montaz
learned a completely different site construction and management method, and
accumulated valuable knowledge and experience. He expressed his sincere
admiration for the high level, high quality and high speed of Chinese construction
technology, as well as the Refined and standardized project management. He
would apply these achievements to the construction of his hometown when he was
back to Egypt.

The
picture Montaz works on the EL-FERDAN Bridge Project
In
2020, as the civil engineering director of the Egypt Suez Canal El-Ferdan
Bridge Project-an EPC project undertaken by CDI, Montaz was one of the first to
arrive at the project site. The project is located on the east side of The
Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, where the social security situation is tense. The
project is in the martial law zone of the military combat forces, all
personnel, equipment and materials entering and leaving the project are subject
to rigorous review. Any slight negligence will delay the project progress. However,
this is not difficult for Montaz. With his excellent communication skills, he
actively coordinated with the owner and the military in the early stage, and
made meticulous arrangements to ensure the normal delivery of personnel,
equipment and materials and to ensure the smooth development of the project.
Ramadan is an
important and special day for Muslims. During Ramadan, engineers will take
vacations and fast. The project personnel is in short supply, while the
stagnation of the bridge foundation is fatal to the overall progress and
quality of the project. As the chief engineer, Montauz resolutely took up the
responsibility. It took 18 hours to work continuously from opening the hole to completing
casting for only one underwater pile foundation. Under the temperature of
nearly 40 degrees, montaz did not drop water for 18 hours, but he firmly
checked all the links. What perseverance and endurance it is. This is our
"Iron Man" Montaz! Many people asked him why he persisted, he
enthusiastically replied that "With diligence and persistence, I have
acquired a passion". This sentence touched everyone, even the supervisor
with 45 years of experience praised him as "Iron Man".
