Successful Completion of Performance Test for AJCC Alternative Fuel Feeding System for Kiln 1&2

Release Time:

AJCC ALTERNATIVE FUEL FEEDING SYSTEM FOR KILN 1&2, undertaken by CDI on EPC basis, has successfully completed the performance tests and acceptance in March 2016.

AJCC ALTERNATIVE FUEL FEEDING SYSTEM FOR KILN 1&2, is the first alternative fuels project undertaken by CDI on EPC basis in the Middle East Region, and it is also the first alternative fuels project in Saudi Arabia. With successful completion of the performance tests, this project has set up a good example in Saudi Arabia and even in the Middle East Region.

As this project is the first alternative fuels project in Saudi, supply of waste tires cannot satisfy the demand and quality of the supplies is not stable, which put forward higher requirements towards the equipment quality and system operation. Meanwhile, the project is located in Turaif in the Gobi area of northern Saudi Arabia, where frequent sandstorms caused waste tires with a large amount of sediment, making situation worse for equipment operation, especially reducing considerably lifetime of crusher cutter. However, CDI, as always adhering to the value idea of “make customers to get the best investment benefit”, conducted multiple technology optimizations to find solutions to new problems and situations in site which are beyond the contract requirements, and finally achieved good running test and passed the performance test once for all. For the crushing system, the test result was 12.2 t/h, 22% above the design capacity; kiln feed rate was 2.5~3.0 t/h, saving heavy oil quality was 2~2.5 t/h, precalciner fuel substitution rate achieved more than 30%, which imposed no adverse effect on operation of the production line and quality of clinker and hence produced good economic profit.

Successful completion of the performance tests is a strong demonstration of CDI’s excellent technical level in the field of alternative fuels, and also the best reward to the hard working of CDI’s staff.
