Located in Beni Suef about 120km southeast to Cairo, the project is to set up complete cement production lines ranging from raw materials crushing to bagging and despatching of cement. The project is undertaken on turnkey basis, including engineering design, equipment procurement and supply, civil construction, erection, commissioning and training, and provision of operation and maintenance services for the production lines for 3 years.
Being a tender open to companies all over the world, the project has attracted many well-known cement engineering contractors to participate in the bidding process. After 2-year hard working by overcoming various hardships, CDI finally defeated all the other competitors and signed the contract with GOE. With a total contract price being Euro 1053 million, this project has been the largest cement production line undertaken by CDI on turnkey basis in Africa up to now.
As another cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of Egypt and CDI since Arish Phase II 2×5500TPD clinker cement production lines, this project in Beni Suef not only enhances the long-term relationship between the parties, but also reinforces CDI’s competitiveness of undertaking large scale cement production lines in Egypt and even in African market, and lays a magnificent milestone for CDI’s exploration of overseas market.
